Perineometer-Free Pelvic Floor EMG
Kegels
Non-Invasive Biofeedback EMG Techniques for Teaching Kegel Exercises without Internal Sensors using
J&J C2-Plus 4 EMG Biofeedback System
-
Biofeedback and other behavioral techniques are
recognized as first-line treatments for urinary stress incontinence and over active
bladder.
-
Learn simple EMG biofeedback techniques that eliminate the need for
internal vaginal or rectal sensors.
-
Learn new
biofeedback techniques to help your clients with
incontinence.
Learn Perineometer-Free Pelvic Floor
EMG Kegels
-
- Learn biofeedback techniques for kegel exercises without using the typical internal
perineometer and eliminate one of the greatest obstacles to treatment. Increase patient follow through
from physician referrals to your practice by eliminating the need for the
perineometer.
Learn to use multiple-lead EMGs placedments to non-invasively access readings from the pelvic floor
muscles. Demonstrations will show that these derivative EMG readings can
be successfully used for treatment for pelvic floor
rehabilitation.
This course will include a review of basic EMG features and will describe in detail how to
apply the technology of multiple-lead EMGs to infer measurements of the pelvic
floor. Participants will have
opportunities for using a vintage BIOCOMP 2010 system as well as current biofeedback systems as provided by J
and J Biofeedback Equipment.
Learn to treat
incontinence and over active bladder through non-invasive techniques using this and other behavioral
strategies.
This course demonstrates a technique of using surface EMGs to obtain non-invasive
readings of the pelvic floor. This technique has been used successfully in clinical practice treating hundreds
of patients since 1993.
Perineometer-Free EMG Pelvic Floor Kegels removes obstacles to treatment and improves
treatment:
Perineometer-Free
EMG Pelvic Floor Kegels eliminate a major obstacle to treatment, thereby assisting you in developing your
practice. You will have a unique service to offer urology, ob-gyn, internal medicine and family medicine
physicians, chiropractors and other allied health persons in your area.
Some patients just don’t want to use an internal sensor. Face it, if you're a woman, do you
like to go for your annual Pap exam? Using Perineometer-Free EMGs, patients simply come to sessions with a pair
of loose shorts. We place sticky electrodes on the inner thighs rather than invasive, internal
sensors.
There may be other therapists in your area
treating incontinence and over active bladder, but if everyone else is using internal sensors, you have a
unique service. And believe me, this makes a difference to the patients and their
doctors.
• This technique also makes the kinesthetic feedback of
clinical biofeedback training sessions more closely approximate the sensations patients feel when exercising at
home. This reduces training time.
The Perineometer-Free EMG technique eliminates clinical logistics:
• No
internal perineometers means reduced infection-control issues.
Surface EMG electrodes can be one-time use.
• No invasive perineometers reduces privacy issues for clinical
staff
• No Medicare reimbursement issues for internal perineometers
• No need for storage of perineometers
